Gallatin County Courthouse Renovation
Project Square Footage: 11,000 sf
The Gallatin County Courthouse in Bozeman was completely renovated and restored between 1997 and 2003. Designed in 1935 by Bozeman architect Fred F. Willson, the art deco courthouse is listed on the National Historic Register.
The extensive interior renovations involved installing brand new heating/ventilating/air conditioning (HVAC) systems as well as new electrical, lighting, computer, fire suppression and communication systems. A new stair tower and many other renovations brought the building up to ADA requirements and current building codes.
Built-in and custom furniture, new ceilings, walls, and flooring were also incorporated into the renovations. The old courtroom was renovated into a state of the art (and historically correct) community room.
